A powerful forward who is setting his teammates up if not scoring himself, Tim Membrey has grown into one of St Kilda's most important players and on and off field leaders.
Growing up in Traralgon, Victoria, Membrey is a country boy who loves the great outdoors. When he tried his hand at football, he quickly became a key forward, captaining Gippsland and representing Vic Country in the National Under 18 Championships.
Membrey’s ability to find the goals didn’t go unnoticed, and he was drafted to the Sydney Swans in the 2012 National Draft. Over two years at the club Membrey played just one game, and ahead of the 2014 season he was picked up by St Kilda. A change of scenery was just what Membrey needed to kick start his career and fulfil the potential he had shown over his junior days. While taking the position of a key tall forward, Membrey can take a contested mark, but is also clean at ground level. A selfless player, when he is not kicking goals himself, he is setting up his teammates and taking charge of the forward line. As St Kilda look to break their Premiership drought, Membrey has been a consistent contributor on the scoreboard. He has been the Leading Goalkicker on three occasions, and quietly transitioned into a mentor to the next crop of players. In 2019 he was selected in the clubs Leadership Group, and in 2020 claimed the Best Clubman Award.
When given the opportunity, Membrey loves to return home to Traralgon and spend time fishing and camping. He is currently completing a landscaping course.
