Jesse Hogan is a key forward for the GWS Giants, a character on and off the field who has a passion for surfing and the outdoors.
Jesse, a Scarborough boy from Western Australia, attended Newman College and played junior football for Marist Junior Football Club. He was recruited by the WAFL in 2011 to play for the Claremont Colts before being awarded a scholarship with the AIS Academy.
Hogan was selected by the Melbourne Football Club with the 2nd pick in the 2012 AFL Mini Draft. Hogan faced a later start to his career, due to being drafted as a 17-year-old meaning he was ineligible to play in 2013 and a back injury forced him to miss the 2014 season.
Hogan made his debut in Round 1, 2015 against the Gold Coast Suns and went on to play 20 games, kick 44 goals and win the AFL NAB Rising Star award in his first season
A consistent three seasons with Melbourne saw Hogan boot 152 goals from his 71 games before requesting a trade to Fremantle to return to his home town. After two seasons at the Dockers, Hogan sought a move to the GWS Giants to take on the role as their key forward target.”
With a taste for adventure , Jesse spends his time away from football catching waves at around WA and exploring the great outdoors.
