After a very successful playing career, Cameron has turned his attention to the coaching side of the game
Cameron grew up in Bairnsdale in Country Victoria coming through the pathways system.
Cameron made his Sheffield Shield as a 17 year old in 2001 before going on to captain the Australian Under 19 World Cup team to the championship in 2002 finishing the tournament as the leading run scorer. White was appointed captain of the Victorian One Day team in 2003/04 aged 20. Cameron made his ODI debut in 2005, T20I debut in 2007 and became a three format International player in 2008 with his baggy green cap. He burst to life in 2009 with his first ODI century, 105 against England in Southampton, and another century came against Pakistan at home. He was awarded player of the match in a successful 2008/09 Sheffield Shield final against Queensland scoring 135 in the first innings. Cameron captained Australia in one ODI and six T20I games. Cameron was a member of six Sheffield Shield winning sides with Victoria and a Big Bash with the Melbourne Renegades. Cameron retired from professional cricket at the end of BBL9 in 2019/20 and is now an assistant coach with Adelaide Strikers
Cameron loves going out fishing on his boat, enjoys a game of golf and spending time with his wife Jacqui and his daughters.
To be totally honest, I’m pretty content. I’ve had enough from a playing point of view and I’m ready to focus on coaching.
